About Hoboken Public Library

Hoboken Public Library was founded in 1890. Since our founding, and especially since we moved into our purpose-built building in 1897, we've worked hard to become a cornerstone of the Hoboken community, providing services, programs, and, of course, books and other materials to our patrons at no cost to them. Originally a book repository, we have since expanded to offer programming and classes on numerous topics, a makerspace, technology on loan, book clubs, free hygiene kits, and more.
